Ford EV & Hybrid FAQs:

Which Ford models are hybrids?

A Ford hybrid is the perfect compromise between a full gasoline engine and a battery-powered EV. If you're searching for a pickup, buy or lease a 2024 Ford Maverick or new F-150 Hybrid truck. These pickups are perfect for skipping past the fuel pump while on the go. Looking for a spacious SUV? The new Explorer Hybrid SUV offers plenty of room for the whole family, or you can compare the Ford Escape Hybrid vs. Escape Plug-In Hybrid to see which model makes the most sense for you.

What are the Ford EV models?

When you check out the new Ford EV lineup, you'll find there are currently three different options to choose from: The new Ford F-150 Lightning truck, the Mustang Mach-E SUV and the E-Transit van. An F-150 Lightning is a great addition to any jobsite, allowing you to conquer tough projects while reducing carbon emissions. If you'd like the style and power of a Ford Mustang, the Mustang Mach-E offers plenty of perks you'll love, while the all-electric E-Transit van is perfect for business owners looking to upgrade their fleet.

What's the difference between hybrids and EVs?

Quite simply, an EV is any vehicle that is solely powered by an electric motor, with no internal combustion engine. A hybrid vehicle, on the other hand, combines an electric motor with a gas engine and switches between the two while on the go. If you buy a plug-in hybrid, you'll find it's a middle ground between the two, allowing you to plug in to charge the battery and run it in EV mode before the vehicle switches over to gasoline.

Do EV cars cost more to maintain?

No. In fact, electric vehicles cost less than gas-powered vehicles to maintain in the long run. This is because they do not have an engine and are manufactured with fewer components, which means that there are fewer parts that could break or wear out over time and fewer fluids that need to be replaced.

What are the different Ford EV ranges?

There are three all-electric Ford models and each offers different range options based on if you choose the standard or extended-range battery. They are as follows:

  • Ford Mustang Mach-E
    • Standard Range Battery: EPA-estimated range of 224-247 miles1
    • Available Extended Range Battery: EPA-estimated range of 260-312 miles1
  • Ford F-150 Lightning
    • Standard Range Battery: EPA-estimated range of up to 240 miles1
    • Available Extended Range Battery: EPA-estimated range of 300-320 miles1
  • Ford E-Transit
    • Standard Range Battery: EPA-estimated range of 108-126 miles1

How do I charge my Ford EV?

All Ford EVs come with home charging solutions. These electric Ford models can also be charged at different electric charging stations across the country. The Mustang Mach-E comes standard with the Ford Mobile Power Cord for at-home charging, while the Ford Connected Charge Station is available for faster charging times.

Meanwhile, the F-150 Lightning comes standard with the Ford Mobile Power Cord, while the Ford Charge Station Pro is standard with all extended-range battery F-150 Lightning models and is available for other models.
